Samsung announces Beat-s music phone

Samsung have announced two music-focused handsets - the Beatb, and Beats. The Beat b will be available later this month, and the S, sometime next month. Being music-focused handsets, they feature several things you’d expect to see in a music-minded handset, such as an FM Radio, dedicated music keys, 3.5 mm jack, etc. Also, both handsets come with a unique application, called Shazam, which, when you play part of a song, it will do its best to correctly identify it. Technical specs for the BeatS are as follows:

  • Display: 2.0″, QVGA resolution, shows up to 262 thousand colours
  • Camera: Two megapixels
  • Memory: MicroSD card slot
  • Extras: Bluetooh and USB 2.0, FM Radio with RDS, 3.5 mm jack, Shazam song identifying app, auto equalizer
  • Battery: 800 mAh
  • Dimensions: 96.5 x 46.9 x 16.9 mm
  • Weight: 101 grams
